FAQS

GET TO KNOW THE PROCESS

What relationships do we have with suppliers?

Aspen Microsystems operates on the philosophy that the customer and the product needs drive the technical solution. The result is that they don't not have any exclusive supplier relationships, rather, by understanding the capabilities of the broader supply base, Aspen Microsystems and their clients can pick the best supplier for the application. Rather than fit a square peg in a round hole, we find the right size of round peg.

Do we get paid a commission from suppliers?

Because Aspen Microsystems values the needs of the customer first and foremost, we do not have any arrangements with suppliers that pay us a commission or finders fee. Our value comes from being agnostic to the supply base so that the needs of the product and the customer drive the selection of key suppliers.

What is the role of the package in MEMS devices?

It has often been said that the package can be anywhere from 25 to 90% of the cost of a MEMS product. The development of a MEMS package is often not considered earlier enough in the design of a MEMS product which can result in not only significant additional cost to the product, but also lead to delays in getting the product to market.

What type of product development do we specialize in?

Leland “Chip” Spangler has a long history of working with customers to develop new and novel products and bring them to market. As such our specialty is working on hard, unusual and new product development activities.
